Comments: Logged rainforests are cheap conservation option

This has been known for quite a long time, but in past years when old forests were more abundant, secondary forests were dismissed as "damaged", or much inferior. Tree plantations with large areas of logged forest have been found to have from 60-70% of the original species, perhaps more (NATURE|Vol 446|5 April 2007). This study is welcome, but old news.
