This is an important story and it is getting some coverage in North America/UK but not nearly at the level of the Murdoch affair. There is little doubt climate change will result in a drier southern Africa. (It is likely happening already although to soon to prove).
In my IPS article last year Phil Thornton (not Thorton) said raid-fed ag will become very difficult to do in Africa when global temps reach 2 degrees C. That's not far away. http://bit.ly/icuw5g
Wrote a more recent piece on climate refugees --where 1 billion are at future risk and how MIGRATION must be allowed within countries and across borders.
