Obama did NOT mention the climate "CRISIS" in his 2011 state of the union speech.
Finally, some good news for the planet:
Scientists made environmental protection necessary in the first place when they supposedly polluted the planet with their evil chemicals and cancer causing pesticides and so how ironic is it that we bowed like fools to our Gods of science for 25 years of “unstoppable warming”?
Scientists are not gods and don’t forget that scientists also produced cruise missiles, cancer causing chemicals, land mine technology, nuclear weapons, germ warfare, cluster bombs, strip mining technology, Y2K, Y2Kyoto, deep sea drilling technology and now climate control. Proof of consensus not being real is the fact that scientists did not march in the streets when IPCC funding was pulled, the EPA was castrated and Obama’s not even mentioning the “crisis” in his state of the union speech. Consensus was a myth because if it were true, the consensus scientists declaring a climate emergency would act like it was an emergency and demand their CO2 mitigation be taken seriously. We believed a handful of lab coat consultants who said we could CONTROL the planet’s temperature and prevent it from boiling. Pure insanity as history will call this modern day witch burning. The new denier is anyone still believing voters will vote YES to taxing the air to make the weather colder. Not going to happen.
REAL planet lovers don't hold scientists as Gods and bow to politicians promising to make lower the seas and scare kids with such doomsday glee.
There is now a solid grass roots effort by the masses of former climate change believers to have the leading scientists and leading news editors subjected to criminal charges for knowingly sustaining the false CO2 death threats to billions of children for the last 25 years of the climate blame mistake.
Stay tuned. We missed getting Bush for his false war and a wave of former believer rage will get this one right. Call the courthouse.

Compromise on tackling global overheat and natural resource destruction and doing anything short of rewiring the global economy to protect environmental systems and building the infrastructure necessary to keep the planet alive is going to set off a cascading event that will shift the Earth to a lifeless state.

I'm not sure politicians, certainly not lawmakers or justice officials exactly realize the state of societal collapse possible as food and water sources dry up and the planet really begins to unravel. Please if people in power are listening try to use your influence to avert this outcome of all the energy of living things, thought and time of creatures of God's good Earth to bring things to this point.. It is a point of choice

If the ravings of the commenter identified above as "mememine69" are not the ravings of a lunatic, the word "lunatic" needs to be redefined, or dropped from the dictionary.

Never mind the disconnectedness, sheer illogic, and inanity of it all; the factual inaccuracies in mememine69's appallingly distasteful (stunning? awful? terrible?) word-salad are so numerous as to be not worth addressing in detail.

FYI, the scientific consensus on global warming is real, the IPCC's funding is intact, the EPA is not castrated and is even now finalizing strict carbon-pollution rules for U.S. industry, and no "former climate-change believers" are calling for the criminal prosecution of "leading scientists or leading news editors" for "false CO2 death threats to billions of children for the last 25 years." Evidence of the reality and seriousness of global warming has never been stronger and grows stronger with every passing day. What could possibly have led anyone who has ever taken the global-warming threat seriously to change his or her mind? I question whether there are in fact any "former climate-change believers." I don't know any and have never heard of any.

Finally, if Obama omitted mention of the climate crisis in his last State of the Union address, this is something the President may have to answer for to his own soul, but has no bearing on the fact that the crisis exists. He's certainly talking about it now (as indicated by the title of the current Mongabay.com article, "Obama focuses on climate change in Earth Day proclamation"), if somewhat belatedly, so of what significance was his previous omission? Did "mememine69" even bother to read the article before spewing forth the toxic ideation in his insane rant? (I say "his" rather than "her," since the psychology is characteristic of the demented male denier type.)

Lunatics like this one would do themselves and the rest of us a favor if, rather than pollute the blogosphere with their peculiar brand of nonsense and squid ink, they would find a quiet place in the desert and simply howl at the moon. They don't call them "lunatics" for nothing.

Yes. President Barack Obama is committed to promote Clean Technologies to control global warming and connected climate change. Unless Big Nations take effective steps to avert global warming, the future generations have to face the evil effects.
