Check the abstract of the article again, please. It seems to say that cockroaches are NOT considered edible.
Three of the five species studied by the researchers were suitable for food, but cockroaches were not one of them.
"suitable" yes, desirable probably not
There is a small problem with the Jewish
food rules. Insects are forbidden to eat for us.
this article is retarded nobody will buy this idea
"The scientists attributed the decrease in emissions to the insects' more efficient use of food. Because they aren't warm-blooded, what insects eat is aimed directly at body growth rather than maintaining a stable body temperature."
Doesn't really follow on from the premise for me. Why would using food to grow a body produce less of anything than using it to maintain temperature? Interesting ideas though....
I agree, the current system of animal farming is completely unsustainable, an environmental disaster - see the U N report "Livestocks long shadow". Eating sentient beings is also incredibly cruel. You wouldn't eat your dog, would you? Pigs are just as smart.
However, insects or lab grown meats are not the answer. Plant based diets are the healthiest and the most environmentally friendly.
Go vegan - it's better for you, better for the planet but most importantly it's the morally right thing to do.
Since the whole idea of a minute increase in carbon dioxide has nothing to do with the larger climate picture (the sun is the real cause of warming and cooling) this proposal is not worthy of discussion. Its too bad intelligent people like you can't use your time more productively.
With all the intelligent people preoccupied with the global warming hoax, the rest of us should plot to take over the world!
What about Mushrooms?
