Well, as much as we are happy that uganda has vast pieces of land that are suitable for oil palm growing, much attention needs to be taken. Its very important to think about our environment. Centuries ago East Asia was in the same status but right now most of their forests have been replaced by oil palm plantantions. I wouldnt love to see my country go through what Indonesia and other countries are going through because of environmental effects related to palm oil production. In this regard i think its very important to first of all carry out land suitability studies to identify suitable areas for sustainbale oil palm production.
