Way to go Bank of America!!
I live in Virginia and our State has been doing the moutain top removal for years!!
Now the goal for Virginia is to allow Open Pit Uranium Mining in Pittsylvania County (SouthSide)which we are fighting.
Maybe all Banks need to go Green!
Thank you for taking action to stop this last, terrible effort by the Bush Administration to leave nothing unharmed during its violent tenure.
We appreciate your action.
I had been ambivalent about nuclear power until reading "Terrestrial Power" that outlines the real costs of burning oil, coal, natural gas, and producing the biggest farce of all; ethanol.
I've found myself reconsidering nuclear based upon today's technologies, the success of the process in France, other European countries, and even our own programs although we need to reprocess the fuel to reduce storage concerns. When you consider that a 120 ton Coal car only provides 20 minutes worth of fuel for the largest coal/electric plants, you begin to understand that the myth of "clean coal" is just that, a myth. There is no clean side to coal, from the environmental destruction to the CO2. This fuel should be taken out of contention as quickly as possible.
I used to worry about the future generations, yet now, at 66, I am now afraid for my own generation. The eight years we have suffered under the insanity of the Bush administration have been years we could not afford to waste. We needed to fight a war against pollution not Iraq.
I will not put any of my money(millions) in Bank of America. However, if they decide to stop using paper which kills millions of trees, maybe I will reconsider.
