Dude, rainforest everywhere in Ecuador is under siege.. they don't have the highest per capita deforestation rates on the continent for nothing! There's still lots left in ecuadorian Amazonia but some predictions have it completely deforested within 30 years time..
Those forests are spectacularly beautiful and well worth saving, both for their intrinsic value and to benefit future generations .
