Already threatened by unmitigated climate change, the United Nations missions of the Pacific Small Island Developing States have recently circulated a draft resolution addressing this very issue. Entitled "The threat of climate change to international peace and security", the PSIDS missions and their cosponsors (Canada, the Philippines and the Maldvives) charge the Security Council to take up the responsibility with which it is entrusted in the UN Charter - to protect member states.
These tiny, relatively powerless nations are coalescing to undertake an uphill political battle in the face of otherwise stalled political processes. Show your support. Time is running out.
