SIRS,
I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR A HALF HOUR TO GET THE WEBSITE ADDRESS TO USE THE WIZARD PROGRAM FOR SMALL ENVIRONMENTS [Ref. HANCE?] - EVEN TO GET A LARGER SCALE DISPLAY WILL HELP - I HAVE BECOME INTERESTED IN THE CHANGING PROSPECTS FOR THE CANADIAN NWT THE BORDER BETWEEN THE TUNDRA AND THE BOREAL FOREST.
IT OCCURS TO ME THAT TO PROMOTE SOME PLANNED ADVANCE OF FOREST INTO TUNDRA COULD HELP PRODUCE MORE OXYGEN AND DIMINISH SOIL SLUMPING & BREAKDOWN W/RELEASE OF METHANE FROM HYDRATES IN PERMAFOST, BY BLOCKING SUN LIGHT, IF FOREST INTRODUCED UTILISES ONLY A SHALLOW LAYER OF THAWED PERMAFROST, THE THAWING OF THE REST COULD BE SLOWED OR STOPPED AND THE METHANE RETAINED; ALSO IF RANFALL INCREASES EROSION WOULD BE DIMINISHED BY FOREST COVER, AND WATER RETAINED.
IT WOULD BE DESIRABLE TO PROMOTE FIRE-RESISTANT SPECIES AS RAINFALL MAY BE SEASONAL OR LIMITED MUCH OF THESE AREAS ARE/HAVE BEEN WETLANDS BUT ARCTIC DESERT W/ONLY 10" ANNUAL PRECIP.

PLEASE AID ME IN ACCESSING THE WIZARD, ALSO CIRCULATE THESE IDEAS IF YOU CAN AND FWD ME ANY SERIOUS RESPONSES AS MAY COMMUNICATE BUT DO NOT DISPLAY MY E-MAIL - I'M JUST INTERESTED TO DISCUSS MANAGING THE INEVITABLE W/REASONABLE PEOPLE - CAN'T WASTE TIME TO DEAL W/FANATICS/LOONIES
