Comments: 14 countries win first REDD funding from the World Bank to protect forests

now that it has been established that de-forestation comprises 20% of GHGs and that it is easier,cheaper, more charasmatic,has co-benefits up the wazoo.not to mention the increasing body of knowledge indicating that hitherto unrecognised climate change benefits accrue from forests...why I ask..has our group-think media and its distinguished jounalists avoided championing this obvious first way to go...who the hell knows...please write letters,prosthelitise friends etc.
Hope the World Bank doesnt speak with forked tongue i.e. financing development projects complicit in de-foreststion
