Comments: Amazon research and conservation cannot ignore social issues
Back to news.mongabay.com/2008/0225-hance_alves_amazon.html

    Dear Sir,

i would like to share some expreriences with you. i am a master degree holder of social work & now am working in NGO which works for community based conservation.

At first conservation field was totally new for me but now because of some field experience i able to understand it little bit. And from that understanding i can conclude that without local people's participation you can not able to conserve the specie or forest or i can to say ecosystem.

Through our organisation we are doing 1 project on an Endangered bird Great Hornbill. So at the time of project implimentation we got lot of information about the bird's feeding style, nesting style, behaviour pattern from local people itself. So i would like to give support to the statement, 'you should not ignore social issues or aspects at the time of conservation.'

I know i am not expert of the field but i will work hard for to be an expert in this field. So please guide me.

    with warm regards,

    Ketaki Gokhale.

    Ketaki Gokhale
